News 08/12 – The 2019 rankings!

We are still under the emotion of this amazing 10th edition! The disruptions in transport, rain, wind, lack of sleep for the organisers (and probably the participants)... all this was forgotten in the blink of an eye when the race started and the joy took over.

One thing is for sure: even after 10 years, we will never get tired of the sight!

But now it's time for the rankings in the Pro and Leisure categories:

The race

The world’s largest paddle race


Organized by Nautic Festival SA for the Nautic Paris Boat Show, the 9th Nautic Paddle is scheduled for December 9th, 2018. 

 

The race will take place in Paris, with an exceptional setting on the Seine River between the National Library of France (Bibliothèque Nationale de France) and the port Javel Bas. 800 Participants, consisting of professionals and amateurs alike, are expected to be in attendance for the competition. 

 

2 routes to choose from

Route #1: “LEISURE” division. Approximate distance of 11 kilometers. 

 

Route #2: “PRO” division. Distance of 13.5 kilometers with the additional challenge of a complete circuit around two islands: Île de la Cité and Île Saint-Louis.

Solo or as a team

It is possible to participate in the event solo or as a group (4 people maximum). In both cases, each participant will have their own paddle. Then, there will be a lottery to determine the individuals and teams selected to participate. 

 

Registration fees are 60 euros including VAT per participant. 

Nautic Paddle statistics:

  • 1 000 participants authorized in 2019 (800 in 2018, 700 in 2017, 600 in 2016, 500 in 2015) 
  • 41 nationalities represented in the most recent race 
  • 40 years old: the average age of participants
  • 31% women
  • 27 of the 29 bridges in Paris are on the race circuit, providing an exceptional view of the capital’s cultural heritage.

Distinguished guests

Note: as in 2018, the last stage of the APP World Tour (Association of Professional Paddlers) will take place during the 10th edition of the Nautic Paddle, with a start planned at the same time as the main race. The Nautic Paddle will once again crown the 2019 World Champion (Women and Men).

 

Who will succeed the American Shae Foudy and the French Arthur Arutkin who lifted the crown last year?
